Crowdsender app is an extension of the Crowdsender platform and it is designed to be the working tool for warehouse operators, offering them support in their daily tasks.
Available:
Apple Store
Play Store
📔 Note: Registration on the Crowdsender platform is required to use the application's functions.
With the application the operator will have access to:
Daily task overview
📔 Note: For an order to appear in the application as a task for an operator, the preparation of the group must first be initiated on the Crowdsender platform.
Outbound is the principal screen of the application, where all the boxes to be prepared and sent are displayed, organised by send date. By default, boxes scheduled for today (Send date: Today) are displayed, but can be filtered by other dates using the segmentation options at the top: Today, Tomorrow, Yesterday, Last 7 days, or Next 7 days.
The header graph displays the status of boxes for a specific date, updating in real-time as operators pack and dispatch them throughout the day. The goal is to have 100% of the boxes both prepared and dispatched by the end of the day. For instance, if there are 42 boxes to ship today, packing all 42 but not dispatching them would only bring the graph to 50%.
Below the chart, there are two cards that divide the daily tasks into two sections: Packing and Dispatch. Each card displays the number of boxes still to be completed in its respective area. This information is dynamic, as the number of boxes left to dispatch updates in real-time as packing progresses.
Prepare orders
The 'Packing' section provides a view of all orders that still need to be prepared. Similar to the Crowdsender platform, the application organizes these orders into groups.
📔 Note: The configuration of these groups has been set up in the Company Settings section of the Crowdsender platform. This change affects both the app and the platform.
Two types of order preparation from the app:
Scanning by group: By clicking on ‘Start’ on a group, a filter is applied, allowing only the boxes within that group to be scanned and marked as prepared. To use this functionality, the operator must have all the boxes ready with labels attached. The contents of the order will not be visible, nor will it be possible to print any documents.
If you scan the label correctly, the box changes to ‘Prepared’ status. However, the system also displays several types of errors when scanning an incorrect label
Scanning by individual box: By scanning the label of a box from the overview or packing summary, a detailed view of the box opens. This view displays the products associated with the box, the required documentation, and shipment details (courier, departure date, arrival date, and destination). The operator will need to insert the products and documents into the box, following the specifications detailed in the application.
Then, by clicking on the ‘Mark as prepared’ button or by scanning the label again, the box becomes prepared. To use this functionality, the operator must have all the labels printed.
📔 Note: There is a third system for box preparation outside of the application. The 'Packing Display' feature in the 'Overview' section of the platform shows each box in a group of orders to be prepared, printing the necessary documents as the operator fills each box with the corresponding products.
Mark orders as dispatched
The ‘Dispatch’ section allows the operator to view orders awaiting dispatch and to report their departure from the warehouse. Only groups marked as prepared and waiting to be picked up by a courier are displayed.
In the details of each group card, the subtitle displays the total number of boxes within the group, while the title indicates how many boxes have been shipped and how many are still available for shipping. The number of boxes available for dispatch is dynamically updated as operators update the packing process.
When a courier picks up a particular group the operator must select the group checkbox and tick the ‘Mark as dispatched’ button. Once confirmed by the user, all orders are marked as dispatched.
Once all the boxes in the group have been dispatched from the warehouse, the card disappears from the section.
Details of each box
Outside of the preparation stages, Crowdsender app allows the user to scan any label on a box and view its contents regardless of its shipping status.
Data of interest of the box detail:
Box states: Each box in the system has 3 statuses:
Pending preparation: The box is not yet prepared with the necessary documentation, items and packaging.
Prepared: The box is ready for shipment.
En route: The box has been shipped and is on its way to the customer.
Releasing a box: We allow an operator to remove a box from a group if they feel they cannot have it ready for the current dispatch day. That box is automatically removed from the group and added to the next closest date. You can remove it from the group by pressing the button "More actions" > "Release this box from the group". This functionality is only available if the box is in ‘Pending preparation’ or ‘Prepared’ status.
Enlarge the product photo: In all e-commerce or marketplaces that offer it, Crowdsender allows the operator to see an image of the product in the contents of the box. If the user clicks on the image, they can enlarge it to see it in more detail.
See the detail of a product: We allow the user to see the specifications of a product.
View documents: All documents assigned to the box can be enlarged by clicking on the eye icon to view them in detail.
Add tags: It is not allowed to create new tags or modify them in Crowdscan. Only existing tags can be assigned to a box.
Settings
Language
The application is translated into 5 languages and users can select the one they find easiest to use for their work.
Scanner type
Crowdsender app allows two scanning modes:
Scanner: Designed for devices with an integrated scanner or Android mobile phones and tablets that use Bluetooth scanners. This option is geared toward e-commerce platforms or marketplaces with a high volume of daily preparations.
Camera: Intended for use with any device that has a camera functioning as a scanner. This feature is aimed at customers who are just starting out.
Enabling this option adds an icon to the bottom right of the device, which activates the camera when pressed. After taking the photo, the scanner returns to the previous screen where the user was working.
📔 Note: If you have enabled camera scanning on a device with a built-in scanner, the built-in scanner will not work.
Warehouse
Each user can be assigned to one or more warehouses. The application displays orders only from the selected warehouse. Users must choose which warehouse they want to work with in the application. Upon logging in for the first time, the first warehouse in the list is automatically assigned to the user.
📔 Note: If you wish to modify or add more warehouses, only users with an administrator role are allowed to make these changes. To do this, they must go to the ‘Users’ section of the Crowdsender platform.
No Internet alert
For the operation of the application and the update of orders on the Crowdsender platform, the device must be connected to the Internet. Any action taken offline will not be taken into account. Whenever there is no internet connection, an alert will appear at the top.
